Winter Mini Session Planning Guide

I’m so excited that you have booked a Winter Mini Session with me! We are going to have fun and I look forward to creating beautiful images for your family to cherish!

LOCATION:

Spring Lake Park Reserve/Schaar's Bluff (8395 127th St E, Hastings, MN)

We will meet in the parking lot overlooking the river. After you enter the park, make your first right then your first left and you will be in the correct spot.

*Please plan on arriving to the park 5-10 minutes early so we can start shooting right at your scheduled start time. Due to the fast paced nature of mini session days, I am unable to accommodate extra time due to late arrivals.

WEATHER

Winter weather in Minnesota can be very unpredictable so please dress accordingly. I recommend wearing extra layers for cold days. You can bring jackets along or a big warm blanket for a quick warmup in between shots. If there is inclement weather or high winds on your session day, we will need to reschedule to the next available date.

WHAT DO WE BRING?

I recommend bringing a blanket to sit on for sitting poses. Anything else is up to you but not necessary.

-If you have young children who may not want to take photos, a tiny treat as a reward can sometimes work well (something that can be eaten quickly between photos and is not messy such as mini marshmallows or smarties that dissolve fast).  If you do decide to bring a treat for your children, please communicate this with me and save it for if we really need it.

TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL MINI SESSION

1.Plan outfits in advance.

2.Get plenty of rest.

3.Make sure children are well fed.

4.Arrive early so we can start shooting right at your appointment time.

5.Go with the flow/Have fun!

7.Watch for a sneak peek on social media within 48 hours then for your proofing gallery within 1-2 weeks.

8.After your proof gallery arrives via email, quickly select your 10 favorite image for final edits. Within 1-2 more weeks, they will then be available as high resolution downloads with rights to print! You will also have the option to upgrade to a full gallery of images if you choose!
