Spring Lake Park Reserve (Hastings, MN)
Pros:
-So many beautiful backdrops within a short walk from the parking areas.
-There are public restrooms/changing areas.
-This location works all year round.
-Low amount of bugs.
Cons:
-Frequented by bicyclists, walkers, and other photographers.
Grey Cloud Dunes SNA (Cottage Grove)
Pros:
-A truly breathtaking location with unique plants, sand dunes, prairie and textures. You can't find another location like it nearby.
Cons:
-There is no restroom or changing area.
-This location only works well close to sunset and June through October.
-There is about a 5 minute walk to the location spot from the parking lot.
-There are a lot of ticks in the spring and early summer.
